Full Circle Moment - Treasurer

As a charter member of the London, UK Chapter of The Links, Incorporated; I am happy to have been elected as Treasurer and will serve a two year term. This role comes with a huge responsibility and it will require me to get out of my comfort zone. I will be a part of the Executive Committee, act as Chair of the Finance Committee, and sit on the Fundraising Committee. My success will be tied to managing the finances and ensuring that we fulfil our financial obligations as a chapter that is registered as a charity in England and Wales and a private company in England. To manage this new responsibility, I will make sure that I allocate time during the week to manage these new responsibilities and use this summer to develop my two year strategy. Over the past seven years, we have accomplished so much as a chapter and I know that we will continue to build on our momentum to offer the many programs such as our exchange program with Queen Mary University in London and Spelman College and our annual clothing drive with Dress for Success. As I continue to lean in on new challenges and opportunities, I will use this blog to share my lessons (what I learned) and my successes (how I navigated). Life is all about learning, evolving, and sharing with our community. So wish me luck and as always I will share tips, tricks, and of course books. For any of you who have served as a Treasurer for a charity or any organisation, please feel free to share any tricks with me. Cheers to new opportunities, wish me luck, and may they lead to new ones.

I make a living working in the City of London in banking. For fun I love to read, run, visit spas, and spend time with my family and friends. I believe that each of us holds power in our words and can be whatever we want to be so long as we make the commitment to work on it. I love to tell and share stories.
