Let’s Normalise Self Care

This past week was extremely busy for my team and me. What was supposed to be a smooth week turned into a week of twists and turns that were beyond my control. I decided to end the work week by treating myself to a trip to The Steam Bar in Selfridges. I have featured this salon in my Spa section a couple of times. The Steam Bar is the first Black owned salon to operate from a major department store in Europe. It was nice to exhale, get pampered, and talk about the latest events. While the self care didn’t erase the problems that I will need to face head on this morning, I feel much better by pouring into me. The reality is that we cannot pour from an empty cup. So try to carve out time to pour into you whether it is splurging at a salon, exploring an exhibition, or drinking a nice cup of coffee or tea. Life is honestly too short to only focus on your to do list. We need to normalise that it is okay to spend time on our self care. I am sending you lots of love and positive energy as you tackle the week ahead.

I make a living working in the City of London in banking. For fun I love to read, run, visit spas, and spend time with my family and friends. I believe that each of us holds power in our words and can be whatever we want to be so long as we make the commitment to work on it. I love to tell and share stories.
