Women In Banking and Finance - Future Leaders Network Panel
Earlier this week, I had the opportunity to sit on a panel sponsored by my company, Wells Fargo, and organised by the Women In Banking and Finance - Future Leaders Network. The event, Setting yourself up for success, was targeted for women who have ten years or less experience. As panellists, we were asked to be prepared to share our stories on the following: career highlights, career challenges, advice for future leaders, top tips for success, best piece of advice, and ways to balance things outside of work. The panel was well received because we were candid about the good times and the challenging times. We normalised that life continues to be challenging but environment, culture, and balance are critical for one’s sustainability in an industry that changes all the time. I was happy that so many of the attendees reached out to me after the event. As someone who believes that there is power in story, I am convinced that the more we share our stories, the more we will realise that we are all just trying to navigate this thing called life and we only learn as we keep on pushing. Look out for my upcoming posts and I will share the tips that I shared. So if you are given an opportunity to share your story, I highly encourage you to do it. There is power in sharing your story.
